SCHOOL NEWS:
The National Honor Society will be holding a review session on January 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Students who are interested in attending must scan the QR code on the flier to sign up.
On January 7, 1924 Hiram Bingham III a Yale professor, WWI pilot, and politician was sworn in as Connecticut Governor. 24 hours later he resigned to take a US Senate seat he had won in a special election. Bingham’s Lieutenant Governor John Trumbull assumed the duties of governor. John Trumbull was the fourth Trumbull to serve as Governor of Connecticut throughout its history. CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
The Islamic Cultural Club will meet after school on Wednesday, January 7th, in Room AN39. During the meeting, we will discuss preparations for the upcoming Taste of Ramadan event, which will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, during Ramadan, in the SWHS Cafeteria from 3:00–8:30 p.m. Please see Mr. Ly, Alveena Suha, or Hamnah Siddiqui with any questions.
Attention all Interact members. Our January monthly meeting will take place this Thursday, January 8th, in the SWHS Cafeteria. This is a mandatory meeting for all club members. Due to midterms being right around the corner our end time is projected to be 2:30pm. As a reminder, the Words for Women Committee is hosting a cardmaking event after our monthly meeting. If you signed up for this event please be prepared to stay until 3:30pm. We look forward to seeing everyone!
